  1. What was your job for this project?

My job for this project was to design for Urban Outfitters who is looking to come out with a new line of “Vintage” Style graphic T’s. I had to create a graphic T-shirt with a one-color design incorporating text and imagery. The T-shirt is suppose to look like old promotional t-shirts for various events and companies and for me I had to design for Alley Cats Bowling Lanes in Bugscuffle TN.

2. What was the design process you took to complete the project? Please list your steps below.

My first step was coming up with an idea and then sketching it out. Next I had to pick fonts that would complement my design. Next I began working in the computer. I started off by creating the bowling pin shape and then worked on placing everything else on the design. Next I had to shape build everything so it could be sent to the cutting plotter. From there I had to weed my design. Once I finished weeding I pressed my design on my shirt using the heat press.

3.What did you find most challenging about your design?

The most challenging part of my design was choosing a font for “bowling lanes” I knew I wanted to use the font “Sketch” for “Alley Cats” and “Bugscuffle TN” but I struggled finding one that would pair nicely with it.

4.If you can change one thing about your design what would you change?

If I could change one thing about my design I would change the size of “Bugscuffle TN” on the bottom because it got messed up when I was weeding.

5.What do you think makes a good graphic t-shirt design?

A good graphic design t-shirt is simple but still gets the point across. If the t-shirt is too busy it would be easy for the company name to get lost.
